Marantec 382 Digital 2-Button Remote

Whether you lost your remote or just want to get a spare the Marantec 382 Digital Remote is the one to use for your Marantec garage door opener. The 2-button remote can be used to work two separate Marantec garage door openers.

The 382 Digital Remote is compatible with the Synergy Solo, Synergy 260, Synergy 270, Synergy 280, Synergy 360, Synergy 370 and Synergy 380 Marantec model openers. It's also compatible with models M4500e, M4700e, M4900e, M4500ECO, M4700ECO, M50, and M55. If you have an older model Marantec opener it may be compatible but you'll need to check if your opener uses 315MHz frequency radio receiver. We recommend you read the article "How to Find The Correct Marantec Garage Door Opener Remote" first to help you determine if the 382 Digital Remote is compatible.

The 382 2-Button Digital Remote replaces the previous model M3-2312 remote.

Get more information or purchase a new remote at the Garage Door Zone store.

How To Program a Remote to Your Marantec EOS Opener

Marantec M4500e Garage Door Opener

Below are instructions on how to program a new remote into a Marantec M4500e, M4700e, or M4900e garage door opener.

Important: if you have a working remote then scroll down and follow the Programming Additional Remotes instructions otherwise start with the Programming One Remote instructions.

If you have one of the Marantec EOS garage door openers (models M4500e, M4700e and M4900e) and don't have any working remotes then you'll need to program one remote into the unit. Any additional remotes that you want to use with the opener will have to be programmed by using a Programming Jumper.

You can program a Marantec Digital 382 2-button remote, Digital 384 4-button remoteM3-3313 Key Chain Remote, M3-2312 2-button remote (discontinued model) or a M3-2314 4-button remote
(discontinued model) into the powerhead by following the instructions below.

*As a side note: "universal" style remotes found in box stores and hardware stores are NOT compatible with Marantec garage door openers. Only Marantec brand remotes work with the Marantec operators.

PROGRAMMING ONE REMOTE
*Look at the powerhead (motor unit on the ceiling) and you'll see the eight Red LED lights and the three programming buttons (P, +, -)

  1. Press and HOLD the "P" button for about 3 seconds
  2. LED lights #8,1 & 2 will light up solid
  3. Press & RELEASE the "P" button 2 times
  4. Now LED lights #6, 7, & 8 should be lit up
  5. Press & HOLD the button on the remote that you would like to use to operate the opener
  6. While you are holding the remote button you should see #7 LED light flash rapidly
  7. Now release the remote button
  8. Push and RELEASE the "P" button one time & you will exit the programming mode
  9. Congratulations....you just programmed the remote
PROGRAMMING ADDITIONAL REMOTES
Now, what if you have additional remotes that you want to program? This is where the programming jumper comes into play and it looks like this:

Here are the instructions to program additional remotes using the program jumper after you programmed one remote into the opener:
  • You connect the jumper between the existing programmed remote and the new remote
  • Press and HOLD the button on the existing remote that currently works your opener
  • Then press & HOLD the button on the new remote that you want to work the opener
  • The LED light on the remotes flicker & you're done.

Replacing A Marantec Mac-Lift Garage Door Opener Remote

Marantec Mac Lift III garage door opener
Marantec Mac Lift Opener
We have covered this before but we still get a lot of inquiries about replacement remotes for the Marantec Mac-Lift garage door openers so we figured it was time to cover the topic again. An easy solution to a common problem with Marantec Maclift III garage door openers.

ML-1401V Remote
The Marantec Mac-Lift garage door openers were (Marantec no longer offers the Mac-Lift model opener) available in two models: the MacLift III Deluxe 2005 and the MacLift III Elite 2007. Both models came standard with a 40MHz frequency radio receiver and remote. Unfortunately with the end of the Mac-Lift openers came the end of the 40MHz frequency remotes and keyless entry. Marantec no longer offers any of the 40MHz remotes: ML-1401V, ML-1402V and ML-1404V. The ML-640 keyless entry keypad has also been discontinued. So called "universal" remotes found in stores that claim to work with everything will not work with Marantec openers. There is a solution though....

ALL IS NOT LOST.....

75424 Marantec Radio Receiver Set
75424 Marantec Radio Receiver Set
There is a solution! Marantec offers a replacement radio receiver set that hooks up to your Mac-Lift garage door opener. The #75424 Plug-in Radio Receiver Set is a simple solution and much cheaper than having to buy a whole new garage door operator. The plug-in radio receiver does just that...it plugs into an
electrical outlet near the garage door opener. You then connect two wires from the plug-in receiver to the back of the garage door opener. Then you press the program button on the plug-in receiver and press the button on the new remote. That's it...not much to it. A simple solution and you'll get many more years out of your Mac Lift garage door opener.

The #75424 Plug-in Radio Receiver Set comes complete with: One 75424 Plug-in radio receiver, one (1) 382 Digital 2-Button 315MHz Remote, 2-strand bell wire and installation instructions. Everything you need in one box. If you have a two bay garage and have Marantec Mac Lift garage door openers on both garage doors then you would need a separate 75424 Plug-in Radio Receiver Set for each operator.

Additional 382 Digital 2-button Remotes , 384 Digital 4-button Remotes or M3-3313 Micro Remotes can be added to 75424 Plug-in Radio Receiver. A wireless keypad can also be added. The Marantec  M13-631 Wireless Keyless Entry Keypad is the latest version.

http://www.garagedoorzone.com/M13-631-Marantec-Garage-Door-Opener-Keyless-Entry-Keypad-104053.htm
Marantec M13-631 Keypad
To program the keyless entry you'll use a programmed remote to transfer the code from the remote to the additional keyless and add your 4-digit pin number. It's actually pretty simple. The only problem is that once the keyless is programmed you'll notice a delay every time you use the keyless entry - you have to hold your finger on the enter key after you enter your 4-digit pin for 4 or 5 seconds before the opener will run. This can be a little bit of a pain if you're in a hurry but that's the way the keyless works with the plug-in receiver.

For more info or to purchase the Marantec 75424 Plug-in Radio Receiver Set, 382 Digital Remote, 384 Digital Remote, M3-3313 Micro Remote or M13-631 Wireless Keypad visit the Garage Door Zone Store here.

Finding the Correct Remote For Your Marantec Garage Door Opener

It happens all the time - you purchase a new house and the previous owner doesn't leave any remotes to the garage door opener. Or maybe you have a remote but it's so worn you can't even tell what model it is anymore.

We've got some answers to help you figure it out. Read our latest post on our Support Manuals site - Helpful Tips and Information section where we go over a couple of easy ways to determine if the latest available Marantec remote will work with your opener or what your options are if your remote has been discontinued.

It doesn't matter if you have a 20 year old Marantec Mac-Lift III opener or a two year old Synergy 260 opener the "How To Find The Correct Marantec Garage Door Opener Remote" post should help you find what you need to get your opener back to working with a garage door remote again.

Marantec Synergy 370 & 380 Operators - Programming A Remote

Below are instructions on programming a garage door remote to the Marantec model Synergy 370 and 380 operators. You'll only use the instructions below if you don't have any remotes programmed to the operator. The Marantec operators can only hold the code of one remote. Additional remotes copy the code of the one programmed remote so if you are looking to program additional remotes check out the blog post Programming Marantec Remote Video here. However, what do you do if you don't have an existing remote (perhaps you lost it or you just moved into the home and they didn't leave you a remote). Here's a rundown on how to program a new remote by using the buttons on the powerhead (motor) unit on the ceiling.

Here is what the programming buttons look like on the powerhead that you will use to program the remote:

Synergy 370 & 380 Program Buttons & Display
LED Display

Program the remote into the opener powerhead by using the "+", "-", and "P" buttons on the powerhead. Here is a rundown on how to program the remote using the buttons on the powerhead unit on the ceiling. You should see 3 red buttons:  "+"button / "-"button / "P" button.

TO PROGRAM A REMOTE (or make/change any adjustment):

Press and hold the "P" button for approximately 3 seconds. When
the display of the DOOR OPEN POSITION on the LED Display illuminates release the button.
You are now ready to set or change the desired adjustment.

Press and release the "P" button until the REMOTE CONTROL icon on the LED DISPLAY is illuminated

The opener can now learn the code of the hand-held remote transmitter.

Press and hold the button on the remote transmitter.

Release the remote transmitter button. The opener has now learned the particular
code of this transmitter.
http://www.garagedoorzone.com/M13-631-Marantec-Garage-Door-Opener-Keyless-Entry-Keypad-104053.htm
M13-631 Keyless Entry

Once the opener has successfully received the code from the
transmitter, press and release the "P" button. This stores the
code in memory. It also completes the adjustment setting
sequence, and completes the program process.

The ON icon should now be illuminated on the LED DISPLAY and the opener is ready for operation.

And that's how you program a remote to the Marantec Synergy 370 and 380 operators. Remember if  you need to program additional remotes you can see the video on how to use the programming jumper here.

Do you need a new remote for your operator? You can purchase the Digital 382 Marantec remote here (it replaces the old discontinued M3-2312 remote). In the market for a wireless keyless entry? You can find the Marantec M13-631 Keyless Entry here.

Marantec Digital 382 Remote Replaces M3-2312 Remote

At the end of 2016 Marantec introduced the new Digital 382 2-button Remote. Marantec discontinued the M3-2312 2-button remote.
Digital 382 Remote

Here is the new Marantec Digital 382 2-button Remote.
It functions and programs the same as the old M3-2312
Remote. It is slightly thinner and has two buttons that can
be programmed to two different Marantec operators. It also
has a red LED light on the front that glows when either
old M3-2312 Remote
button is pushed. It also has a visor clip on the back of
the remote.

One minor difference between the Digital 382 Remote
and the M3-2312 Remote is that the new remote doesn't
have the small hole near the bottom of the remote that
the M3-2312 Remote did. Not a big deal but some
homeowners would use that hole to attach the remote
to a keychain. We recommend that you purchase the
M3-3313 Remote if you wish to put the remote on a
keychain.

The remote works on the current 315MHz frequency that the Marantec operators use (which is the same frequency the M3-2312 used).

The Digital 382 2-button Marantec Remote is now available and can be purchased at the Garage Door Zone Store.

Replacing The Remote For Your Garage Door Opener

It happens. You put the garage door remote in your coat pocket and forget about it. You sell your old vehicle and forget to take the remote out. You drop the remote on the driveway and it breaks into a million pieces. It happens....

The best solution is to buy the exact replacement for the remote you lost or broke. This way you know it will work with your operator. You can find many of the most common replacement remotes here on the Garage Door Zone site. But if you lost it how do you know which one to buy? Look in the garage door operator manual and you'll usually find the compatible remotes listed on one of the last pages of the manual. What if you don't have the manual? You can find many manuals here on the Garage Door Zone Support Site.

So you found the remote you need but also found that it is no longer available. What do you do now? Install a new radio receiver with a new remote. It's a simple set up with only two wires to hook up and is easy to program by just pushing a button. Take a look here at the Linear MegaCode Universal Receiver Set available on the Garage Door Zone site. It includes everything you need to get you up and running again.

Garage Door Question of the Week - How do I change the battery in my remote?

Garage Door Question of the Week - How Do I Change The Battery In My Remote?

Every week we answer common questions about garage doors and garage door operators that we receive in our mailbag. If you have a question please email us at: Support@GarageDoorZone.com.

Q: For the life of me I can't figure out how to open my remote to change the battery. Any tips? - Diane

A: It may seem like a silly question but it is in fact a very good (and common) question. If you have an older (15 - 20 year old) remote then this usually isn't a problem. Most of the older remotes had a screw that you could remove or a small piece that you could slide to get to the battery compartment. This is not the case in most of the newer remotes. I'm assuming in an effort to save on production costs the remotes are no longer made with a screw or a sliding compartment door. What you'll usually find is the two pieces of the remote are pressure fitted together making it difficult to get to the battery. However on most remotes you'll see a small indentation on the end or side of the battery. Take a dime and put it in that indentation and turn the dime like a key. The two halves of the remote should then come apart giving you access to the battery. Two of the more common batteries you'll find is the 3-Volt Lithium Battery or the 12-Volt Alkaline Battery.

Thanks again for the questions. Keep them coming by emailing us at: Support@GarageDoorZone.com or use the Contact Form on the left.

Garage Door Question of the Week - Keyless Entry Instructions - Week 34

Garage Door Question of the Week - Keyless Entry Instructions

Every week we answer common questions about garage doors and garage door operators that we receive in our mailbag. If you have a question please email us at: Support@GarageDoorZone.com.

Q: I need instructions on how to reprogram my keypad remote. It doesn't remember my password any longer and the change password instructions don't work. Where can I find programming instructions? - Tom

A: Great question Tom. We all do it - we buy a new product and throw the instructions in a drawer. Then when you really need them you can't find them. Not to worry though - Garage Door Zone has a Support Site with a lot of different programming instructions and installation manuals (and we're always trying to add more). Visit the Garage Door Zone Support Site and look up the keyless entry, remote or garage door opener you need the instructions for. If you don't see the particular set of instructions you need send us an email (support@GarageDoorZone.com) and we'll try to get it uploaded for you.
